Accepting bKash payments: a developer's guide for Bangladesh

What developers need to know to accept bKash payments in a Bangladeshi web or mobile app, including checkout flow, COD, and reconciliation.

To accept bKash payments in Bangladesh, you integrate bKash's payment gateway (or a payment aggregator that supports it) into your checkout, then reconcile completed payments against your orders. For most local stores you should also support cash-on-delivery (COD), which still accounts for a large share of e-commerce orders.

The typical checkout flow

  • Customer selects bKash at checkout and confirms the amount.
  • Your back end creates a payment request with the gateway.
  • The customer authorises payment in bKash and is redirected back.
  • Your back end verifies the payment status before marking the order paid.

Always verify on the server

Never trust the client to confirm a payment. Verify the final payment status from your back end using the gateway's query or webhook, then update the order. This prevents spoofed 'success' redirects from creating fake paid orders.

Support COD and reconciliation

Offer cash-on-delivery alongside bKash and Nagad, and give your operations team a single console to see order and payment status. Clear reconciliation between payments and orders is what keeps a growing store from drowning in manual checks.
